Buddy Guy to return to Hoyt Sherman Place

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and legendary bluesman Buddy Guy will perform at Hoyt Sherman Place on Thursday, June 14. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and show time is 7:30 p.m.

At age 81, Guy is a major influence on rock titans such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Stevie Ray Vaughan; a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound; and a living link to the city’s halcyon days of electric blues. Among the numerous awards the acclaimed musician has received are 7 Grammy Awards, including one for his last full-length album, 2016’s “Born To Play Guitar.” Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Guy #23 in its “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.”

Guy last performed at Hoyt Sherman Place on Nov. 17, 2016.
