Iowa native Danika Portz to perform at Temple Theater

Iowa native Danika Portz will perform at the Temple Theater on Thursday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at DMPA.org, the Civic Center Ticket Office, and by phone at  515-246-2300.

Bringing radio pop hits, her own original music and a full band from Nashville where she now resides, Portz promises her show won’t be anything less than high energy.

Portz, originally from Remsen, Iowa, and a Drake University alumni, is currently touring the country, hot off the tail of her fifth overseas military tour in support of our men and women serving abroad.

“Having the opportunity to go overseas and perform for these selfless men and women who serve our country is the biggest honor,” Portz said. “My brother serves in the Air Force and has been deployed to Afghanistan five different times, and my baby brother just enlisted. We have quickly become a military family, so doing these tours really hits home for me. I’m so excited to be back Stateside and to bring that energy to the people in Des Moines.”

Additionally, Portz has performed at some of the largest festivals in the country including CMA Fest, the Key West Songwriters Festival, and Mill Creek Fest, and has opened for David Cook, Dan+Shay, Josh Gracin, A Thousand Horses, and Michael Ray.
