Toby Keith to play Iowa State Fair Aug. 12

Fresh off his Iowa appearance at the Tree Town Festival (now called Country Thunder) Sunday night, it was announced this morning that country artist Toby Keith will return to central Iowa, this time to perform at the Iowa State Fair on Aug. 12.

Keith and opener and special guest Jimmie Allen will perform in the Grandstand. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m., and can be purchased at iowastatefair.org and etix.com.

From his first No. 1 smash “Should’ve Been a Cowboy” to his latest studio album “35 MPH Town,” Keith has been one of the most consistent self-directed hit makers of his era with singles such as the No. 1 hit “Made in America,” and “Red Solo Cup.” His albums have sold more than 40 million copies, ranking him among the top-selling all-genre artists on Billboard’s Top 200 Artists of the Decade. Keith is also Billboard’s No. 1 Country Artist of the Decade and No. 1 Country Songwriter of the Decade.
