Weezer announces Wells Fargo Arena tour date

Al-rockers Weezer will return to the road with The Pixies in the spring of 2019, and the tour itinerary includes a stop at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on March 28.

The band rolled out the first song — “Can’t Knock The Hustle,” — from their forthcoming album, “The Black Album,”  earlier last week. The album was produced by TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek, with whom the band worked for the first time. The song follows the band’s recent smash hit cover of “Africa” by Toto, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

Weezer and the Pixies teamed up for a wildly successful tour this past summer. The Rivers Cuomo-led band is known for rock radio hits “Buddy Holly” and “Hash Pipe,” among others.

Tickets for the show go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. exclusively through Hy-VeeTix.com, the Wells Fargo Arena Ticket Office, 844-55-HYVEE or at any Des Moines or Ames Hy-VeeTix.com locations.
