Maddie Poppe to tour Iowa in December

Clarksville, Iowa native and Season 16 winner of ABC’s “American Idol,” Maddie Poppe, is releasing a Christmas Album on Nov. 20 and touring Iowa with a handful of just-announced shows.

Poppe will play Cedar Falls Dec. 9 and 11, followed by shows in Cedar Rapids on Dec.. 12, Dubuque on Dec. 13, Arnolds Park on Dec. 15, Red Oak on Dec. 18, and Davenport on Dec. 19.

Poppe fell in love with music at a young age, learning to play guitar, ukulele and piano and in 2016, Poppe released her self-produced debut album, “Songs from the Basement.” After years of performing locally in Iowa, she decided to audition for “American Idol,” stealing America’s hearts and was crowned the winner, giving the audience an emotional, overjoyed, and tear stained performance of her single, “Going Going Gone.”

Since her Idol victory, Poppe has been in high demand appearing on multiple TV shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live, Live! with Kelly & Ryan and the 2018 Radio Disney Music Awards, and performing at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Special Olympics and CMA Fest in Nashville.

Poppe’s sophomore album “Whirlwind “reached No. 2 on the iTunes Pop charts and her hit single “Made You Miss” earned No. 19 on the Hot AC Radio charts. Her sentimental ballad “Not Losing You” swept radio charts as well.

Most recently, Poppe supported Ingrid Michaelson on The Dramatic Tour, an experience she calls a dream come true. Maddie’s new album “Christmas from Home” will be released Nov. 20, and can be pre-saved on Spotify now.
