Buddy Guy to perform at Hoyt Sherman Place
Blues legend and eight-time Grammy-award winner Buddy Guy will return to central Iowa for a performance at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines on Wednesday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m. Three-time Grammy-award winning blues artist and producer, Tom Hambridge, will open the show.
Tickets for the performance go on sale Friday, March 11 at 10 a.m. and are available at the Hoyt Sherman Place box office or online at Ticketmaster.com. $1.00 from every ticket sold will go to Turnaround Arts: Des Moines Public Schools.
Guy is recognized as one of the last living Blues Masters. He was honored last summer in the PBS American Masters series with a documentary, “Blues Chase the Blues Away.” Another documentary, “The Torch,” will be released in select theaters on March 18.
Guy is one of the most celebrated blues guitarists of his generation, possessing a sound and style that embodies the traditions of classic Chicago blues while also embracing the fire and flash of rock & roll.
