If you’re a fan of good time rock and roll, the upcoming Okoboji Blue Water Festival Aug. 11-12 at the Preservation Plaza in Arnolds Park is just the ticket for you. Even better? The show is free. On Friday, Aug. 11, at 7:30 p.m., JD McPherson will hit the stage first, then will be followed by renowned national touring artist Chris Isaak at 9 p.m. On Saturday, Aug.12, Eric Burdon & The Animals will perform at 9 p.m.
The festival was created by the Okoboji Protective Association (OPA) in 2016 to raise public awareness of water quality issues in the Iowa Great Lakes. The OPA, founded in 1905, is a 501(c)-3 non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of West Lake Okoboji and the Iowa Great Lakes watershed.
