No. 4 Sandhagen takes down No. 5 Figueireda before sellout crowd as Des Moines welcomes back UFC

More than 15,000 people descended on Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines Saturday night for UFC Fight Night, the first such event in the capitol city in 25 years. Fans were not disappointed, as the 12-bout card featured a little bit of everything, including a Reinier de Ridder TKO of previously-undefeated Bo Nickal, and a Mason Jones bloody slugfest win over local favorite Jeremy Stephens. The card’s main event saw No. 4 Cory Sandhagen defeating No. 5 Deiveson Figueireda by TKO (injury) in round two. The event was the highest grossing in the venue’s history.
